National Geographic Expeditions 2018

I am so honored and thrilled to announce that I will be leading a group of high school students to Nepal with National Geographic Expeditions in July of this year. As a community service based trip, students will have an opportunity to learn about and work on projects in a community called Talamarang related to the devastating earthquakes Nepal experienced in 2015. Talamarang is located in the Sindhupalchok region of Nepal, the epicenter for the deadly 7.8 magnitude earthquakes and their aftershocks. 90% of the homes in the region were destroyed, and across Nepal, over 650,000 families were displaced. Many landslides followed, cutting off rural and remote communities like Talamarang from immediate assistance. The communities here have been rebuilding for three years now, but there is a great deal of work to be done! It has been nearly eight years since I was back in Nepal as a young man. This place captured my heart and I cannot wait to be back. Follow us on this journey here
